Wow, it’s been only 1 week since the vines started to leaf bud. This is the weekend I planted the new 10 Cab Franc vines, but the older vines stole the show. So much leafing has occurred in only 1 week and many of the Chambourcin and Chardonnel vines have clusters!
Norton # 6 is the one I had given up as dead, but has now sprouted leaves. So, I am going with it and will put a grow tube on it. I am starting over on this one, as it’s now like a 1st year vine, but at least it’s living.
It was a perfect weekend for planting and working in the vineyard. Blue Sky vineyard lived up to its name with brilliant beautiful blue skies both days with highs in the mid 70’s. The 10 Cab Franc vines were lovingly planted and watered in. Each vine again received a moss agate stone for extra growing energy. I ran out of time to install the grow tubes – I’ll do that next weekend.
We now have 34 total vines!
