I have decided to name the vineyard “Blue Sky Vineyard”. The Skeenah Gap Winery name will remain.

The Blue Sky is in honor of 2 things:

One: The great, big  beautiful blue sky that seems to almost always be in these mountains. So many days with no clouds, no haze  & no smog. Makes you feel good inside that there is a God above and his creation is magnificent!

Two: The song Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers. The song that makes me think of my wonderful wife every time I hear it. She’s got a certain smile that when I see it – I just melt. Every day with her is a sunny day (well ok, most days :))

I can hear it now as I start to type the lyrics. You know how the song goes: 

“You’re my blue sky, you’re my sunny day.
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way,
Turn your love my way, yeah”

I’ve got Blue Skies and an incredible wife – what a lucky man I am indeed.
