Well, the Japanese beetles came back very hungry. Since I can only spray on the weekend when we’re there, it gets washed off during the first rain and allows the beetles free rein. So, I sprayed again and we’ll see how it goes.
Most of the vines are doing great, with 21 out of 24 vines above the grow tubes! Did lots more training and tying of the vines to build that framework.
I finally planted some grass to help with the erosion.
The weeds on the lower slope are out of control. I got a chance to cut some of the mess. Lots more weed eating along the driveway too.
The rose is in beautiful bloom and the lavender seems to be doing well. I was able to extend the drip irrigation to reach both the rose and lavender. I have read that Basil keeps some pests away, so will plant some next year on the other end of the rows.
