Birthday Wknd in the Vineyard March 2015

We had a  nice 3 day weekend in the mountains to celebrate my Birthday (and work on the vineyard). The weather was beautiful again with sunny skies and temps in the 60’s.

I may be biased, but there seem to be many, many days we have in the mountains that are simply gorgeous – cloudless, sunny, and warm with a slight breeze. Heaven on earth.

I decided to re-do the two rows I had considered ‘vine-ready’.  They needed more tilling and slight terracing. All done by hand.

Clover seed was sown between the rows, but a heavy thunderstorm Sunday night may have washed most of it away. Time will tell.

These moss agate stones will be buried with the vines to bring their healing power. As a stone of abundance, Moss Agate is known for its benefits in agricultural pursuits and has been successful in promoting the growth of new crops. Planted in a pot or flower bed, it increases the overall health of plants. [Melody, 92-93][Eason, 253]
